Privacy Policy

1. Controller

2. Data we process

  • Without an account: Your training progress, history and settings (e.g. reminder time) are stored only locally on your device.
  • With an account: Your email address and, when signing in with Google, also your name, profile picture and account ID; plus the training progress, history and settings synced with your account.
  • Reminders: Local notifications are scheduled on your device; no data is sent to us for this.
  • Usage statistics (only with your consent): Pseudonymous data about app usage, e.g. pages viewed, device and browser information, approximate location (country/region) and random identifiers (Google Analytics for Firebase).
  • Technical data: When you open the web app, the hosting provider processes technically necessary data (e.g. IP address, time, requested file).

3. Purposes and legal bases

  • Providing the app, account and sync: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
  • Secure operation of the web app: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Usage statistics: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). Consent is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future under "Privacy & Legal" in your profile.

4. Service providers

  • Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics): Google Ireland Limited or Google LLC. Sign-in, storage of account data and, with consent, statistics.
  • Google sign-in: If you sign in with Google, we receive the profile data listed above from Google.
  • Netlify (Netlify, Inc., USA): Hosting of the web app.

These providers may transfer data to countries outside the EEA (in particular the USA). This is based on adequacy decisions (e.g. the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses.

5. Retention

Account data and synced training data are kept until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Account → "Delete account" (see also the Delete account page); this permanently removes your account and all data synced to it. Local data stays on your device until you clear the app data or uninstall the app. Analytics data is retained according to the Google Analytics settings (at most 14 months).

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. To exercise them, email info@zilks.ch. You can also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, e.g. the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg (LfDI Baden-Württemberg).

7. Changes

We may update this policy, e.g. when new features are added. The version published here applies.
